Plain-language privacy

Here’s what happens to what you share.

Quirkhalo makes playful identity and friendship readings. This statement explains what information the app uses, why it needs it, and what choices you have.

The quick promise
The short version, before you take a quiz.

Quirkhalo is based in the United States and follows applicable data privacy requirements. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for third-party advertising or marketing. Some providers help us host, secure, analyze, and run the service. They may receive the information they need to do those jobs.

Back to the quiz

01 / What we collect

Only the pieces the readings need

What we collect depends on which part of Quirkhalo you use.
  • Aura Audit: your birth date is required. Birth time and birthplace are optional. We also collect your quiz answers, consent record, generated reading, and retrieval token.
  • Friendship Autopsy: your three friendship answers, consent record, generated result, and retrieval token.
  • If you create an account: the account details you provide, such as your name, email address, and login information handled by our authentication service. If you choose a social provider, it may also supply an account identifier, your name or email when available, and possibly an avatar.
  • If a signed-in member sends an invite: the recipient email address and the invite status and expiry needed to deliver and manage it.

02 / Why we use it

To make the experience work

These are the reasons Quirkhalo needs the information above.
  • Generate your entertainment reading through Quirkhalo’s reading engine.
  • Save and retrieve your result through the app.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and secure Quirkhalo.
  • Send the invite email you asked us to send.
  • Process optional hosted checkout when you choose a paid edition.
  • Understand aggregate page and quiz activity through our existing analytics beacon.

03 / Who helps us run it

Operational providers

Hosting + database
Infrastructure providers may receive the data needed to store and serve the app securely.
AI, email + analytics
Specialized service providers may process the information needed for AI, email, analytics, and other specific product jobs.
Stripe
Stripe handles optional hosted payment processing when you buy a paid edition.

These providers are part of operating the product. This is different from selling your information or sharing it for third-party advertising.

04 / Readings + invites

A private link is still a link

A reading link works like a bearer key: anyone who gets the private link may be able to view that reading. Treat it like something private and share it only with people you trust.

Shared Edition invites are sent by email, expire, and accept one friend submission. The participants’ answers are combined into one shared result. Share only what you are comfortable sharing—and make sure your friend is comfortable too.

05 / Your choices

You stay in the driver’s seat

  • Leave birth time and birthplace blank—they are optional.
  • Skip a quiz, avoid creating an account, avoid sending an invite, or choose not to share a retrieval link.
  • Clear local browser storage to remove the shortcut saved on your device. This does not delete the server record.

06 / Quirkhalo support

Questions, corrections, or deletion requests?
Send privacy and product questions to Quirkhalo support. There is no self-serve deletion button right now, but you can use this form to request deletion, correction, or privacy help. We will review your message through our available support process; this statement does not promise an automated action or a specific response time.

Include the email or private reading details we need to find your request, but do not send passwords or payment information.

Messages go directly to the Quirkhalo support inbox. You will receive an automatic receipt at the email address you provide.

Keep the vibe in perspective

Quirkhalo readings are playful reflections made for entertainment. They are not diagnoses, therapy, legal, financial, or medical advice, prophecies, or factual judgments about you or your relationships.
